Aug 25, 2009 12 oz bottle, Pours a clear dark brown color with little head. Aroma is sweet, roasty, and nutty with more than a bit of malt. Flavor is nice and sweet, reflecting the aroma. Very full body, smooth palate. Very refreshing.

Aug 16, 2009 12oz bottle from Lukas LIquors. Pours dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, molassas caramel and malts. Flavor is malty with chocolate, caramel, and some nuts. Thicker mouthfeel for a brown. Nice balanced ale.

Aug 12, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, Downtown location, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark ruby tinted brown color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is molasses, chocolate, nutty notes and husky malt notes. Taste is chocolate, nutty notes and faint hops in the finish. Also just a faint note of coffee and molasses. Medium bodied. Nice and refreshing.
