Commercial Description:
Contract brewed for Schmaltz Brewing Company. A deep, bold nut brown ale beautifully balanced with rich dark malts and a complex hop character converging to reveal a simply enchanting elixir.

Hoppy brown ale with a really bitter finish. Lightly toasty malts up front giving a nutty flavor with a citrus hop finish. Medium on the palate with a strong residual bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany color with small off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Taste is slightly sweet of brown sugar, nuts, hops and caramel. Finishes a little on the bitter side with the flavor of most other nut brown ales.

Pours a nice dark brown, with a soda head that disappears quickly. fizzing just like soda. Ugh. Aroma is sweet and malty, slightly perfumey (can’t pinpoint why). Chocolate and hops pepper also. Flavor is initially sweet, some dark fruit, then an excellent nutty midsection, and a warm, bready aftertaste with medium hoppy bitterness. Other than the bizzare carbonation/head situation, I find it hard to dislike this beer.

I was rather impressed by this beer. Deep brown color, smooth frothy head and a very rich malty taste, that develops smoothly after the initial bitterness. It’s not as nutty as Samuel Smiths (nor as good) but is a good beer nonetheless. I recommend it.

Dark color with a nice head. Fairly decent flavor, but it’s also a bit thin for my taste. Taste of nuts, malt, slight hop bitterness. Could be a much better brown ale if it wasn’t quite as thin. Overall, flavor is good but the mouthfeel is lacking, still not a bad session beer though.

Rich dark color seems to be hebrew’s signiture, or strong suit. Very carbonated, like the Genesis, with a smokey aroma. Head large and airy, disipates rather quick. The Bad: flat and watery. the Good: balanced, fairly dry and sharp with nuts/caramel/hops/vanilla. in other words, flavorful. Not bad.
