Very dark brown color, short lasting khaki head. Aroma is malty, nutty, chocolate, brown sugar, a mild smokiness and herbal aroma. Smells good. The intial taste is malty, nutty, and woodsy followed by a mild bitterness that offsets the malt. The flavor is not overly complex, but very quaffable. The body is full, but not overly so. Enjoyable beer and a nice compliment to a bowl of chili. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 10, 2006 bottle. Aroma: light toasted malt with a bit of coffee. Brown sugar and toffee and a bit of toasted bread. Appearance: Dark reddish brown with a thin light beige head. Not much lacing. Flavor: Very mild in flavor with some toasted malt, toffee, a bit of dark fruits, slight chocolate. No hop flavor to be found. Palate: Medium-light bodied and watery. Carboantion seemed higher than it should be. Overall: Bland, boring, uninteresting. Need I continue? tommy8768 (120), Litlle Compton, Rhode Island, USA

Palate is about avg some ok coating and a light carbonation. Flavor has a good amount of nuttiness w/ a decent amount of carmel and light toffees finishes a touch dry. It’s not a bad little brown ale. KAggie97 (2481), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Bottle. Pours uninteresting brown, thin and dark. No aroma. None. Zip. Nada. Tastes like nutty hops. Spreads along the tongue nicely. Oi ve! mocarmel (48), Fortville, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Dark/reddish color with tan thin head. Nice hop/malt balance. No standout flavors or aromas. If you could keep the hop balanced and may add a defining flavor, this would be a good brown. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Updated: Aug 30, 2006Decent start, but comes up a bit short. Pours dark brown, light head with a light malty aroma. Slightly nutty-malt taste is good, but a little weak and quick to go away. They should spend more time on the recipe than the marketing.
