| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a deep brown color, with a slightly off-white head that lasts a fairly long time. The aroma impresses, giving notes of caramel and malt. The palate is decidedly an indicator of this beer’s English leanings. Instead of the assertive hoppiness familiar in American brown ales, it leans decidedly toward malt. Thankfully so, as the complexity of the malt profile is very good. Overall, a great brown ale.
