So what if it"s more of a porter than a stout and the label shows entirely too much chest hair, it"s still a nice bittersweet slightly smoky brew blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

Dark, dark color and a small head. Nice aroma some chocolate and coffe present. Good flavor with a feel that is present in most stouts. Very nice indeed. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2003 Updated: Dec 7, 2003Opaque black with a rocky brown head. Tons of lacing. The aroma is stemmy (vegetable bitterness) with a certain sweetness. I taste roasted malt and chocolate, but not much else. It's a quality beer, just might be a bit simple for some. I enjoyed mine, though. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2003 Has a bit of a sweet sugary aroma. Decent sized mocha colored head on a coal black pour. Very full-bodied flavor with some nutty undertones. The hops come through in the tail end as well. Strange aftertaste of smoked oysters! Not unpleasant - just different. Enjoyed reading the bottle as well. - "Do not leave fresh beer in saddle bags of white donkeys. Store cold!" Zach Diesel (907), Portland, Oregon, USA
