| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2005 22 oz bottle pours a dark reddish brown almost black with a small light brown head that doesn’t last long, not much lacing either. Chocolate and coffee aromas, chocolate, caramel, raisin, cherry-plum flavors. Medium bodied with a smooth kind of watery mouthfeel, light carbonation, finishes sweet, alcohol well hidden. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2005 proof porter is kosher. Nu? Isn’t it a stout with some extra yeastiness in the aroma. Quite roasty with a sour Baltic porter finish. Very black, very roasty. Coffee, hops, refreshing, but also syrupy sweet and awkward conglomeration of ingredients.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Black with brown head, think malty with a hoppy taste reminicent of every single microbrewed ale. It tastes like a bottled black and tan. Although it has some short fallings, it’s still a rich, complex brew, that is warming, and pleasing. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Black with a small brown head. Kinda stinky; thick malty aroma, and not a really pleasant one. Taste is thick, rich, and malty. No aftertaste... no really tastes at all, it’s just... there. Oily in the mouth. Not bad, not great. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 31, 2005 Dark brown, almost black, with a small tan head. The nose was faint, malty, roasty, some hops, a little anise. Well carbonated and medium body. A little on the watery side but not so much. Flavor was ho-hum. Nothing noteworthy. HeBrew has good gimmicks and entertaining blurbs on the bottles but should devote more time to brewing good beer. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2005 Dark ruby-brown with a big beige head. Hoppy aroma with some malt backing. Cocoa flavors with some spicey hops. Well balanced and easy to drink with lingering cocoa and malt. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 26, 2005 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of fine to large sized mostly lasting light brown colored bubbles that left behind a carbonated nearly opaques dark ruby red brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was nice with brown caramel malt notes. The mouth feel was tingly and mildly vinous that soon faded into its finish leaving a nice dark malt aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of dark and roasted brown malts.
