Pours dark brown with slight ruby highlights when held to light, thin film of a head, dissipates quickly to a clinging ring on the edge. Aroma of dark, dried fruits, with a bit of roastiness, hints of clover and molasses. Dark dried fruits carry over into the flavor, prunes, dried figs and a bit more of the roastiness, sulfered molasses, and mild earthy herbal notes. Full, smooth and somewhat oily body, little carbonation. Mellow and very drinkable, seems to be aging nicely. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA

Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a small short lived light tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and light dark fruit. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium body with a mild amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Pours a dark brown with a small off white head. Smells of sweet dark malts, dark fruits, berries, and maybe some molasses. The taste has a nice malty, roasty flavor to it. A little bit nutty too. The dark fruits were there, but sort of in the background as the roast seem to penetrate more into the front of the flavor. The finish was a little sticky and mildly sweet. Aftertaste had a slight bitterness with some roast to back it up. Solid for its age. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA

Black body, roasted flavors of toffee, chocolate, watermelon, apples, fig. Extremely smooth to drink. Seems like it should be classified as a barley wine, to me. anders37 (4700), Malmö, Sweden

Bottle: Big fruity aroma with cherries, grapes, raisins, and some light chocolate. It pours a dark brown with red hilights when held to the light. It has a small beige head that quickly fades to a ring. The flavor starts rather fruit with cherry, grape, and raisin along with some moderate chocolate. There is a hint of coffee in the background. The finish has notes of caramel with some faint bitterness. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Very fruity, malty, caramel accented aroma. Almost barley wineish int he aroma really. Some toasted malt notes as well. The body is a fairly dark brown with faint red hues and a diminishing, finger sized, tan head. Lots of caramel maltiness, but this comes off soft and muted with little else int he flavor save some molasses and vague fruity notes. Despite that it drinks nice and is even somewhat comforting in its simplicity. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Bomber purchased at Beverage Castle in Tampa. Pours deep amber with weak light brown head. Right out of the frig the aroma was light. As it warmed I get roasted malts, caramel, hints of dark fruitiness and concentrated grape juice. The flavor begins with some roasted malts, sweet molasses, hints of chocolate and caramel that have all softened with age and seem to blend together. Soon after dark fruitiness and grape fruit juice enter the picture and join the malts as the finish to the beer sip experience approaches. Then the roasted malts, molasses and hints of dark chocolate over run the fruitiness and linger for a while. Another very tasting offering.
