Opaque dark brown, nearly black, with only a shy ruby showing through when held up to a strong light. Cappachino, yellowy tan top of firm, foamy suds sink to a mediumish height once the pouring stops. Keeps a broken skim and a solid collar always present. slowly placed lacing displays itself in short strings along the glass. Aroma is a bit deep and dark with a good amount of milk chocolate laced with hints of vanilla, roast, and fudge. Flavors are solid and thick with enormously long chocolatelyness infused with all sorts of cookie dough ingredients. Vanilla and the like. Just a tug of roastyness slips in towards the middle and end. So much chocolate though; yummy, yum chocolate. Quite a nice exhibition of stature and firm, lasting flavors that go hand in hand with its amazing Stotu-like body and smoothness. Which brings us to the superbly smooth and thick body of this beer. Very full, very smooth, and quite silky with a tone, that of which could be much like a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven. One fantastic Brown ale. This is what all Browns should be like. Yes, its not quite the true version of what a Brown should be, as this is definatley big and stout-like in nearly all its character. So who cares, this stuff is solid and unbelievably good. Outstandingly so...

Poured a clear dark brown color with a ruby tint and small beige head. Aroma of aged sweet malt with strong notes of dark fruits. Light notes of Maracino cherry. The flavor was short and fruity. Light bitter finish. Think this one is heading down.

22oz - Secrest Santa Cousin Rich - Aroma is strong toffee, hazelnut, and carmel. Pours dark brown with small quickly fading head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma and is rather malty. Palate is smooth and sticky at the same time? Not bad, kind of an "imperial brown ale"

Miraculous Jewbelation pours to a beautiful deep brown to ebony color with a thick and creamy tan head and a soft to moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is just packed with character as big aromas of sweet malt, dark chocolate, nuts, peppery alcohol, and estery fruit marry with piney/cirtic hop aromas. This beer has lots of malt brawn, and lots of big flavors of sweet malt, nuts, buttered toast, chocolate, touches of estery fruit, and hints of roast, that lay heavy on the tongue and fill the mouth. The oatmeal in this beer gives that big body a nice creamy texture, as it glides down. Jewbelation finishes with more complex malt flavors up front, then ends with a nice citic/piney hop bitterness that lifts the heavy malt flavors off the tongue paired with a slightly warming alcohol burn. Oy Vey!! This is one complex, delicious, flavorful ale that is just loaded to the gills with aromas and flavors. Retailing for $4 a 22oz bottle it is a beer well worth seeking out to enjoy as a winter warmer over the colder months. I would not suggest pairing this beer with food, rather enjoy it alone as a relaxing beer to wind down with after work, or a good beer to have a nice cigar or good book.

1 year aged bottle... Appears a dark, hazy brown with scattered off white lacing. Smell is of caramel malts, dark fruits, and a touch of spice. Taste is of the same aromas with caramel and light hops standing out. Mouthfeel is sweet and bitter with a light watery feel to to overall body.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of weeare138 (Mike finally got rid of this on us!). Poured a dark brownish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, and roasted malts. Tastes of roasted malts, caramel and light citrus.

Thanks to weeare138. Clear burgundy-brown body with a grayish tan head. Aroma has well-caramelized kettle qualities, dark-toasted grain, and light roast. Sweet, dark roast flavor with cola notes. Might make a decent BBQ sauce.

Poured a dark amber color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of toffee, citrus fruits, some oxidation, roasted and caramel malts. Taste of caramel malts, dried fruits, roasted notes, and a light citrus, grassy hop finish. Juice
