It is dark brown with a well developed mocha colored head. This beer only produces a taste at the end of the swallow and that taste is of over-cooked wheat pasta. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Medium body and a malty finish. Light on the hops. No real flaws, but I am looking fo more and not finding it. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 8, 2005 8 malts + 8 hops + 8 abv = one big, muddled mess of a beer. Pours black with little head retention. The aroma is pungent and earthy, noting wet dirt mostly. It has a nice mouthfeel, which leads to a rather blah hodge-podge of flat and lifeless malts. Nothing really roasty or chocolatey stands out. Kitchen sink beer for sure, that would benefit from some simplification. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

More interested to know whether there was a rabbi present and if he wore a net on his beard. Middle of the road brew. thanks to Rich for providing PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Pours a thick, rich, dark brown with a powerful, but quickly fading mocha colored head. Sweet, cocoa-like aroma with some olive oil accents and a bit of alcohol. Same carries over to the flavor. Some smoky, roasted notes filter through in the back end and forms a good balance against the citrusy hoppiness. Much more flavorful and complex than I had anticipated. Thick mouthfeel, alcohol presence is felt. Pretty good!. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2005 The body is very dark and black in my snifter. The thin head is a very light tan. Sweet aroma of caramel and chocolate. There is also some oranges from the hops. The taste is grapefruit and some light carmel. I also get strong notes of coffee in the finish. This is relatively light for the abv level. Nicely made, but a little confusing. It tastes like a cross between a brown ale, a sweet stout and an APA. Ughsmash (4079), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2005 Deep brown pour with a light smattering of tan head. Aroma picked up some citrus hops as well as some deeply roasted chocolate malt. Really struck me as a hopped up porter. Hops provided bitterness at the front of the palate. This was followed up by roasted chocolate malts, some more hops, and dark fruit (plums and raisins). Finish was nutty with a respectable bitter hop presence. This wasn’t spectacular, but was quite good.. and a steal at only a couple bucks for a 22oz. bomber.
