22 oz bottle; pint glass. Poured almost black, with light brown head. It’s deep red when viewed refractively. Flavor is heavy and deep roasted malt with the hops lending just a little bit of bittering. It’s sweet, but paradoxically finishes dry. That may be due to the alcohol, which becomes more noticeable later in the bottle. This would be a good winter brew, but here I am drinking it on a hot and humid June day in Maryland. A decent brew but I won’t be rushing out to buy more.

Was suprised when I poured out a dark brown to black beer. The lable does not indicate the American Strong Ale classification. However I would put in a porter catagory. I usually do not like porters but this one is not bad. A little mix of everything - choclate, hops, fruit, among others. 1 pint bottle with a cute little story about the significance of the number 8 in Judiasm.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with an average-sized creamy light brown head. Malty aroma with a hint of (sour)fruit. Roasted malt flavor.

Black color with no head. Very, very malty aroma. Slightly bitter taste with a strong malt base and hint of chocolate. Pretty normal, but still good to drink.

a vigorous pour brought vigorous results in frothy brown suds..a dark, sinister liquid underneath, the aroma travels through roasty and touches at subtle cherry, chocolate, christmas pine, and cookie with a relaxing tartness lurking in the background. Thick oily mouthfeel alongside oozing chocolate malt lets you know that this is an nice imperial porter, nevermind that "american Strong ale" designation. Anyway, it packs a nice thick palate dripping with chocolate and a touch of dark dried fruit. The hops give it a little kick of uniqueness..its extremely balanced, malty, and yet quite full. The roastiness is there but doesn’t overpower, thank the lord jesus christ. I’m enjoying this ditty fo sho’.

Pours a very dark color. Rich fruity aroma. A little bit of roastiness is present as well. Nice thick mouthfeel. Roasted malts dominate the flavor. Tasltes like a stout with a fruity/spicy flavor. Slight hop flavor. Alcohol is well hidden.

Dark (almost clear) brown with ruby edges and a small beige head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt. Like the aroma, the flavor has notes of roasted malt, caramel plus a solid dose of hops, chocolate, dark fruit and a hint of smokiness. Sweet. Lingering roasty, moderately bitter finish, with a slight alcohol presence. Medium body, smooth texture and lively carbonation. No lacing, not much head retention. Overall, pretty good stuff.
