washoppinin (19), Florida, USA Oct 30, 2009 Found it in a hole in the wall shop. Did not expect the balance of the 10 malts and 10 hops to be so good due to the age, which seemed to mellow out some of the hops. Had to go buy up the rest, want to cellar for a year or two. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Oct 13, 2009 Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of molasses, resiny, some cognac, boozy, sticky. Tastes resiny and peppery with some dark fruity hints and a molasses finish. Age is revealed in some oxidation setting in, but otherwise good. yobdoog (1420), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Apr 18, 2009 Alcohol and sweetness. Nice and smooth, aged well. A bit thick with some creaminess. Taste has some hops balancing the sweet molasses, and a little spice. Pretty good. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Apr 16, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger: Deep brown with a ruby hue in the light and a sticky tan head. Very sweet aroma- sticky malt notes of tobacco, butterscotch, light roast under a big vanilla character. Sticky cloying body with evident diacetyl and roast meshing with a gigantic sticky sweetness. Toffee, sticky sweet tobacco, vanilla, dark caramel and nurbt marshmallows. No finesse or subtlety here; difficult to drink. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Mar 7, 2009 Alcoholic nose, roasted malts, sweet. Carmally. Viscosity is lower than others (11 and 12), not as black. A little fruitier than those, raisins. This is not on the sweet-thick side, more bitey. Molasses, hops? tangy. Mellow overalll. Pretty tasty, I think. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 Bottle. Opaque body with a dark beige very foamy head. Nose-coffee, cream, Whopper malt balls, Imperial Stout, grape juice. Taste-medium bitter, medium alcohol, grape juice, almost basic (OH-), tea, cranberry juice, lots of berry all the way through and especially on the backend, light sweet creamed coffee, aroma hops, Dr. Pepper syrup, cigar. Not bad considering how much is going on here. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA Jan 4, 2009 Pours dark brown with cocoa-colored head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, toffee, and some slight dark fruit intimations. Flavor contains a fair amount of chocolate and caramel, some buttery toffee notes, vanilla, and some mild citrus and pine notes at the back. Not bad, but the flavors were a little muttled.
