zdk (180), New York, USA Nov 1, 2009 Dark amber. thin white head. I was a little let down by this. I love pomegranate. The fruit is definitely there (though not so much in the nose) but I think the astringent hoppiness sort of makes you forget about the sweet juice. Tingly carbonation very smooth body. Alcohol is masked pretty well. If it wasn’t for the astringency, I feel like I’m drinking juice and seltzer.
UPDATE: At the end of the bottle the bitterness doesn’t bother me as much. It tastes a lot more like promegranate/cranberry juice which I know is an acquired taste, but one that I love. I pushed it a few points. joet (1699), Fulton, California, USA Oct 25, 2009 No one here picked this out as pomegranate from the nose, bit murky, some fruit notes, a bit of astringency, a bit of fruit funk but nothing to get into. A ncie concept. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Oct 24, 2009 Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Smells of sweet malt and fruity. Tastes of caramel, some fruity elements, some peppery splashes on the finish. chriso (4667), London, Greater London, England Oct 21, 2009 Bottle @ pre-GBBF shindig, August 2009. Amber colour. Slightly cloudy. Some fruity notes. Not sure I’d spot it as pomegranate though. Sweet but quite acidic/astringent at the same time. A bit boozy too. Nothing too unpleasant about it but didn’t really hit the spot for me.

Pours cloudy orange, thick beige head.
Aroma is malty with hints of fruits, and hops.
Flavor, faint pomegranate, fruit profile was a little weak, pomegranate adding only to some extra bitterness, malty finish with some spices and bitter hop finish. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 4, 2009 Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. Amber, lasting beige head. Musty malt, some malty fruit. Not great. Not very pommegrannitey either. Very sweet. jbye4334 (652), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2009 Cloudy, dark yellow color. Small off white head. Light malt/alcohol aroma and flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish with a very light tartness. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Fair lacing. l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA Sep 28, 2009 Updated: Sep 29, 2009Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. At first I was a little unsure but this beer really grew on me. Really a strong amber with a nice sweet malt, some caramel and hops. The pomegranate isn’t real noticeable until the end and gives it a kind of weird bitter tangy flavor. Kind of syrupy. Except for the aftertaste, pretty good.
