smell is of grain, a hint of fruit and pumpkin, some spices, a little bit of caramel, and some nuts.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Big and bold. A dark brown color. Strongly sweet both in malt and fruity sugar. Some noticeable alcohol present. This is a fantastic blend of big beer and fruit. I was totally surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. sethdude (604), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Pours hazy amber with almost no head, just a thin halo around the edge and some wispy swirls on top. Aroma is very interesting, heavy caramel, honey, rye bread, cherries, and chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark fruit (dates, cherries, and later on, pomegranate), a bit of alcohol, rye bread, and a bitter finish. Interesting. I think it may be better a bit more fresh, mine has a slightly stale aroma/flavor about it. MishkinBeer (65), , New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Sweet and a bit tart, the Hebrew Origin Pomegranate Ale succeeds in not being disgustingly fruity. The counter to the ripe sweetness is not so much the hops as it is the alcohol. In appearance, the brew is a clear, medium amber with a fizzy cream colored head. Smell is fruity with some malt aroma. The ending is especially dry and sour, but only slightly bitter. An interesting concoction for sure, but it still tastes like a work in progress. jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2009 22oz bomber. Pours a cloudy amber with hints of orangey brown and subtle touches of violet. The head pours thick and off-white, but is short-lived. The aroma is a pleasing mix of cakey, caramel malts, American hops, and subtle sour fruit. The flavor follows the nose: nice chewy, bready malt with some sweetness; balancing hop flavor; and subtle tart pomegranate. The finish has characteristics of a big amber ale - malty with nice fruity hops and balancing bitterness - but is considerably lightened in flavor and texture by the fruity, tart pomegranate character. The mouthfeel starts rich and full, at first, but the high alcohol and tart fruit really lighten the texture considerably. Overall, a smooth brew for its strength wherein the fruit blends with the base style surprisingly well. At time I taste American amber, others I taste funky tart Belgian ale. An interesting and worthy brew. Rciesla (3810), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Nice apple body with some light berry notes, earthy with some light spices and some earthy notes. Some caramel and hints of fruit and etoh. eh. FROTHINGSLOSH (2038), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2009 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vivid red-orange color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was tart sweet berries. The flavor was tart and bitter with a sharp berry presence and tangy malts and honey underneath. The finish was long with tangy berries. Decent. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2009 hardly any taste of pomegranate for me to detect. tastes like a regular full flavored beer with nice hop and malt characters well infused and of good power. light tang in the taste with grapefruit rind in sweetness. i like pomegranate and drink apple cider in it almost everyday so i was sketchy about buying this one. i got a generous sample from the whole foods on 24 th st in manhattan today and was pleasantly surprised. it has a nice generous mouthfeel with good slightly stingy backwash. try some.
