Half pint, cask by traditionally Scottish air pressure dispense at The Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Clear, amber body. Missing head. Floral smell. Fruity taste with a touch of salty water. Dry and smooth in the mouth – almost like old books, but quite easy to drink 24.10.2008.

I was served this fruity summer ale in the An Lanntair Art Gallery in Stornoway where it is a permanent fixture. The beer poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a thick white head that showed excellent retention, surviving the duration of the pint. The nose was hops with some light floral notes and a hint of citrus fruits. These continued through to the taste. A great summer beer, not sure I would drink it all the year round: a bit too light for my taste.

August 10 2005 in the pub of Sligachan Hotel, Sligachan, Isle of Skye, Scotland. Draught. It’s a warm amber beer with a weak head. The aroma has notes of caramel and fruit and the flavour has notes of malt, caramel, light fruit, aroma hops and the finish is dry and lightly bitter.

Cask conditioned at Coventry Beer Festival. Pale gold, no head. One of the most perfumed beers I have tasted, like drinking Eau de Cologne, and I’m not talking Kolsch. Some beer character gets through in a malty sort of way, but this is better suited as a gift for Mothers Day. I think I’ll dab some behind my ears.

Both aroma and taste are full of honey and nut character, however a litle unbalanced.
