Pub (4124), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Oct 12, 2008 Plastic barrel at Woolpack Banbury Beer Fest ’08. Clouded pale yellow, no head. This was slightly wierd, I get the chemical, petrol note mentioned below. Generally I enjoy a Perry, but not really this one, very intense and bitter. Quite poor. Comments: A rather dry in the finish, sweet at the beginning, juicy and fresh perry. Above average.
harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 16, 2007 Bottled bright from a bag in the box and enjoyed on the train home from Planet Thanet BF 2007. Cloudy green gold colour with no head. A bit of industrial pear juice on aroma. Touch of nail varnish. Touch of cabbage in mouth. Some pear juice. Little bit of sugar sweetness is more evident on the finish. Pleasing perry if a little more sweet than I prefer. haddonsman (1192), Derby, Derbyshire, England Mar 21, 2006 Gravity, out the box, at the Burton summer CAMRA festival 2005. Just wonderful. Soaking pears, dry nose, astringent finish. Would have taken the box home with me if I could. Mads Langtved (2246), København K, Denmark Jan 8, 2006 Barrel, GBBF 2005:
Dry perry aroma. Petrol notes are present. Finish is a bit rodden. This one is a litte too much "alive". Corky notes in it as well.
