Commercial Description:
"What's this?! You can't make wine from Avocados!!" We get that all the time, so let's set the record straight. This is mead made from the nectar of the blossom of the Avocado tree. No actual Avocados were used in the production of this varietal. Avocado honey is simply the byproduct of the honeybees' pollination process, a process that ensures many bowls of guacamole in our future! We had no idea our California Avocado Blossom mead would be so popular but, as it turns out, we stumbled upon a beer-lover's favorite. Could be the buttery nutty flavors that are reminiscent of a certain American ESB, or it could be the refreshing, light bitterness that suggests a European Pilsner. This is the sophisticate's ballgame beverage.

Bottled. A pale golden mead with an off-white head. The aroma is very flowere with an underlying note of honey. The flavor is sweet wtih strong notes of honey combined with medium notes of flowers and citrus. The mouthfeel is sparkling.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2008) Pale yellow colour with white, frothy, head. Sparkling. Fruity, vinous nose with flowers and bready notes of sparkling wine or Champagne. Fruity taste with hints of semi-sweet sparkling wine, grass, flowers, honey and bread. Slightly tart and harsh. Quite lively carbonation. Nice and refreshing.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear golden with a dense white head. Lightly spicy aroma of spices and herbs. Medium body, sparkling with notes of flowers and spices while the honey touch is very subdued. Almost champagne-like in character. Interesting - my first sparkling mead I believe. 200908

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Sparkling pale golden. Dryish floral nose. Spritzy and champagne-like with lemon and oncreeping sweetness. Some paper and juicy honey comes along. Slightly sticky finish. Not as elegant as for instance their Alfalfa blossom mead.

From the linkery. Clear golden yellow with a fizzy white head. Pungent aroma. Sweet nectar taste with a big alcoholic warmth.
