Commercial Description:
Our Humboldt County (California) beekeeper takes his bee colonies on an annual pilgrimage to the verdant hills of Humboldt County (Nevada) to pollinate the vast fields of Alfalfa blooming there. Pollinated Alfalfa is grown for seed. The oldest forage crop in the US, Alfalfa is often called the "Queen of Forages" for its nutritive qualities and pleasant flavor. Not too suprizingly, mead produced from alfalfa honey displays wonderful notes of grass and honey. This latest batch of Alfalfa mead is modestly sweet and perfectly balanced. Bottling yeast contribute complexity to the aroma. Food Pairing: Delicious with raw or barbequed oysters, or alone as a celebratory toasting beverage.

Bottled. Hazy, pale golden colour. Low levels of honey in aroma, more of vanilla(from oak ageing?) and white grapes. Flavour is winey, body is sparkling and the grapey feel is more prominent than the honey. Firs Methode Champenoise Mead I’ve had.

(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Sweet honey aroma. Medium body with sweet’n’sour honey accents. A neat and straight mead - whatever that is.... 200908

Clear golden with no head. Sweet aroma with honey and floral notes. Sweet flavour with ripe fruits, honey and caramel notes. Ends sweet with warming alcohol.

Bottled. A hazy golden mead with a rim of white head. The aroma is strong and totally dominated by honey. The flavor has dusty notes of honey with a dry finish and a light alcohol burn in the throat.

0.75 l bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm, thanks oh6gdx and tbone_! Golden color. Strong aroma of honey and sweet white wine. Sparkling and champagne like mouthfeel with notes of black currant in the flavor. Dryer and more acidic finish.

Hazy light blond color. Almost a dry sweet wine, a bit citrusy, with an astringent final. A bit harsh.

Pale yellow color, not much head. Very honeyish aroma. Apples in the flavor, mead is like semi-sweet honeyish spakling white wine. Good.

Bottled@Akkurat. Pale golden colour, aroma is really wineish and wooden with some big honeyish notes. Quite pleasant. Flavour is very much the same, in a smooth and pleasant mix.
