Exactly what you would expect from a light lager. Typical having little smell and flavor. Slight hops and malt, however, really only good for the alcohol. Go Cubbies!

I actually don’t mind the original, it carries some decent midwest nostalgia and tastes pretty good at a Cubs game. The light plain sucks. Slightly fizzy aroma with almost no beer taste. I could have been drinking a cold glass of carbonated sweat for all I know.

light yellow tint w/ small soapy white head.. hints of yeast and ass in the smell and basically tasted like piss water.. I got down half the glass using the chug method and gave away the other half to someone who drinks piss. yes same rating as the non light... only more water in this piss.

From a 1 pint light blue 2007 Cubs commemorative can, freshness date on the bottom, sampled ice cold in pint glass while watching the Cubs spank the Brewers on a Sunday afternoon. Poured a clear pale yellowish golden with a foamy white head, active carbonation, decent head retention, above average appearance for a light lager. The nose is not much different from the regular Old Style, faint and clean, powdery, a light corn cereal and sweet pale macro maltiness. Thin, watery light body, mildly crisp and dry, even for a macro light lager this is just too bland and dull tasting for me, cooked sweet corn, cereal grains, thin sweet neutral maltiness that leaves me wondering how much rice was used in this, a tasteless soft hop bite towards the end, and a dryish, clean finish, no flavors lingering in the palate, I guess that’s a good thing. Given a choice, I would choose several other light lagers over this, just to bland and tasteless for me personally.

Just a tad better than the original Old Style...must be because it takes the sour nasty taste down a few notches.

Pretty much a light beer. A watered down version of it’s full strength Old Style but not even a hint of barley. Pours a near clear water yellow with no head. I had to try two cans of this swill just to get some kind of aroma or taste. I swear I could actually smell the Dawn dish detergent than anything that resenbles a macro-made beer. Oh well, at least it keeps the corn growers in business.

Pours a pale, pale yellow, thin with abundant streams of carbonation, all beneath a frothy white & fully fading head. Dusty aroma with sweet pale malts. Cloying malted flavor despite a base of mineral water. Thicker-bodied than I’d have liked. I have to admit that this wasn’t too bad to swill back as I was makin’ chili...waiting to drink the rest of my Aecht Schlenkerla after I added some to the batch!
