It's the Chicago Cub's annual "old style appreciation day" and some friends of mine are obligated to go. So, I joined in...and drank my obligatory Old Style. Outside of the fact that it is way overpriced and the person that handed me the beer expected a tip for no apparent reason, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth, the beer wasn't all that bad. The atmosphere was much worse than the beer itself. As for aroma, there was none that I could percieve over the smoke filled bar and cheap perfume. The appearance was that of an alumimum can, it did have a nice crisp snap as I popped the top. Overall the appearance was a cheap as the other patrons. As for flavor, if you can call it flavor, I was impressed. The flavor was the only nonoffensive characteristic in the bar. Little to no mouthfeel, crisp, dry finish,with a hint of malt character. Even though the can claims they dont use preservatives, I dont know why else they would put hops in this beer cause you sure cant taste them. As for bitterness, I would gather that what little bitterness I percieved came from the artificial carbonation. Would I drink it again? Of course...there is no other choice at Wrigley field. Next time I'm gonna sneak in a hoppy local micro to blend it with so I can taste my beer.

Never really heard of this beer until I was at a crummy bar in Knoxville, Tennesse. Evidently, it is very cheap and they have it on tap instead of Natural Light/Ice. Needless to say, we had it...and it was just about as bad as you could imagine. Yellow colour, metal aroma, bitter flavour with a pungent and uneventful aftertaste. Overall, horrible. BUT, fun to drink when you are on Spring break in the 'south'! I had this on draught at Toddy's in Knoxville, Tennessee.

One of my roomates bought this so i'd figure i would at least get a rating out of it. This is definitely one of the worse american standards although this is a relative statement; when i drink this i feel like an old man with a huge beer gut wearing a wife beater!!!

Had this a few nights ago at a college party. It was pretty light and not that great. It was however real cheap, and once owned by pabst so that is at least has something going for it. It is a good get drunk beer- as you can down as many of these as you want while playing beirut- but at the end of the night you are feeling it. Another crap beer but for the money it is ok I guess. Does any of this make sense? Im really drunk.

White head. Yellow body. Pretty normal beer. Just like Bud Light. Somewhat sweet, malty flavor. Nothing to write home about.

Ah, Wrigley Field and Old Style-what a combo. Of course OS is just about as bad as any of the macros, but at least its a little more palatable. If only they added a little more malt and hops, it might actually be decent.

Its unique. The color alone is unique in its slightly darker color. Flavor wise this lets you know that you are drinking beer...Is good for that reason, not watery at all.

The darkest of the side by side tastings of american standards this evening. Not saying much still a straw color. Light grainy aroma, with just a hint of floral hops. Actually has a touch of malt sweetness, but also has a light bad vanilla extract flavor. I hate to think how many gallons of this (Blatz, and Special Export) I drank 20 years ago.
