| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 20, 2008 24 oz can. Pours a pale yellow/gold with a thin white head. Aroma is of corn and pale grains. Flavor is slightly corny and sweet with what one could perhaps say, a crisp finish. Thin and light. I did enjoy it a bit though. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Drank at Fake Christmas. Received as a gift (jokingly). Another pale lager that smelt of grain and corn, had a clear golden appearance, and little flavor. I don’t know why, but when I am with my friends these seem like the greatest beers in the world. ilovedarkbeer (1367), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Finally tasted the Chicago favorite. Pours a yellow orange color with a foamy head that quickly turns into just top soap. Smell is sour and of wheat and corn. Mouthfeel is soft has a bit of a bite at the end. Tastes like wheat and corn. Better than most PLS. valpoaj (363), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 16, 2007 From can, the way God intended it to be consumed, and fitted snugly into a Chicago Cubs Koozie (though my Dirty John’s koozie from IA City, IA would be appropriate as well). The pour (had I poured it) would be straw with some very light head and lots of carbonation bubbles. Aroma is not the strongpoint of this beer...in fact, it is somewhat offensive and musty, but seriously, who in their right mind buys an OS to pour into a snifter/chalice and savors the aroma, so although the points are low on this one, it should not be seen as a large detractor from the Old Style experience. Flavor is relatively full for a cheap beer, and is dominated by corn and some underlying syrup. Yep, there’s that mysterious metallic flavor, but as I said, God intended this brew to be consumed straight from the can (unless in the beautiful bleachers of Wrigley), so there are going to be some metallic hints (though some other canned beers don’t have this flavor, its sort of part of the OS experience). Very smooth finish for a macro...sort of coats your mouth to let you remember that last gulp until you can get the next one going. Yep, I have some minor bias as a Cubbie fan, but this is probably my favorite macro out there...props to the G Heileman Brewing Company, Milwaukee Wisconsin! SN11 (57), USA
