This lager is a fine example of the dutch brewing art and recieves favourable marks from a lot of people. Having not imbibed this continental lager for a good while I decided to buy a five litre keg from my local stockist and see if it was the same as I’d remembered from my time in Amsterdam. Drank the whole lot whilst playing poker and threw up on my shoes on the walk home. What’s more I pissed in the goldfish tank mistaking it for the toilet and now my wife isn’t talking to me. A fine lager I would reccommend to anyone!

Dec 16, 2009 (16 ounce can - pint glass) Pours a clear golden yellow color that produces no head and leads to little lacing. Very little aroma but for the nose that is there is grainey malt. Taste is dry, grain cereal malt and skunky. Thin body, little carbonation and dry finish.

Dec 13, 2009 Poors a clear pale yellow. Very bubbly / fizzy, has a thick white head that dissapates quickly. Has a slightly sour / slightly skunky aroma, taste the same as is smells. Thin bodied, overall not bad, i kinda of like the sourish/skunky taste in a strange way

Pale straw colour, little to no head, rather dull nose and although it tastes similar to the real thing this beer has a distinct pear note to it that kind of stands out. Its not as good as the real thing

Nov 22, 2009 Bottle. What can I say? It’s Heineken. Actually it’s not all that bad (the one brewed in Holland, not brewed under license), if not particularly exciting. Grainy, malty aroma with a hint of grassy, herbal hops. Flavour has some mild sweetness but is otherwise the same. Inoffensive and very easy to drink but that’s about it.

Nov 21, 2009 Poured from a 355 ml bottle. Drank it very cold, paired with bread and cheese. Pale yellow color, with a quickly evanescent head. Smells really good, with herbal, vegetable notes. Mild to moderate bitterness, with a hoppy, short-lived aftertaste. Very easy to drink. Doesn’t require much attention.
