| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Pours from the bottle a deep copper color with a tan bubbly head that fades down fast. Aroma is sweet, modest Munich, light caramel, some bready note, some apple fruitiness and a mild floral hop note. Flavor has a stronger than normal Munich toasted bite, early cherry note, very light (almost) smokey note with a smooth malty sugar ending. Very dense brew with a low, fine carbonation makes it really seem sticky in your mouth. Overall a terrific brew and one that I wish I could find around me.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 6, 2009 I really enjoyed this one, although I wonder if it was as intended, as this beer reminded me of a Surly Coffee Bender. Lots of malty goodness, not much in the way of hops, and a very solid background in every other category. Hope to have another sometime. GAManiac (1194), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Pours a slightly hazy amber with a small and short-lived off-white head that dissipates quickly to a small ring and leaves no lacing.
The aroma is a balance of toasted bread and sweet caramel malts with a slight musty hop aroma in the background.
The taste follows the aroma with a big toasted bready malt backbone that has hints of sweetness and earthy hops on top. The finish is very crisp and dry.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation and, as mentioned before, dry and toasted in the finish.
This is a decent session beer from Heiner though I probably enjoyed the kolsch a little more. markas101 (590), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2008 I have nothing but good things to say about this beer. Poured a brown/amber color with head that it retained for a while. Aroma was malty, but flavor was just perfectly balanced. Mouthfeel was great and drinkability was off the charts. I was pleasantly surprised. bleeng (600), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Dark copper and hazy. No head and no nose. A bit malty and somewhat spicy (!) but mostly just watery. Finish is thin with a slight maltiness lingering. Not memorable and certainly in no way similar to any German oktoberfest/marzen I’ve ever had.
