aroma and taste, add a good dose of fruits, mostly apples/pears with some roasted malts.
Not too sure about the apple flavor to be the intended direction of this stout, just did not seem to fit the style.
With that being said, the beer remained drinkable and did not show signs of oxidation.

Jun 3, 2008 I live right down the street from the Brewery. Thanks to Deiter the Brewer. Growler, pours an almost pure black thin color. The head is light tan. Aroma is malty and sweet roast. Decent stout, very fresh, no preservetives

May 9, 2008 I live right down the street from the Heinzelmannchen Brewery, and i gotta say that is is nice. The Black Forest Stout pour dark, dark brown with a little off-white head. The aroma is not to strong, but it smells of barley. The tastes is chocolate and carmel with a smooth finish. Very nice beer

Oct 26, 2007 Sampled @ brewgrass in asheville. Poured a dark black with a thin tan head. Hints of coffee, burnt malts. Finished very thin and lightly carbonated. Not to impressed.

Oct 3, 2007 Brewsgrass 07** Poured a cola color with a beige head. A nice coffee and caramel aroma. Mouthfeel was medium with coffee, malts, hops and slight chocolate flavors.This finished off with a bitter coffee finish.
