Commercial Description:
A tasteful ale reminiscent of times around a hearth where one seeks out the warmth and comfort of reflection on the day's blessings; our little Heinzelmännchen friends sought to share these moments together with joy and thankfulness, the fire sparkling in their eyes and the ale soothing their soul. This smooth, brown ale satisfies the palate with spicy foods, wings and Mexican fare.

On tap. Light brown pour, off white head. Aroma is some roast malt and peat. Tastes very similarly, with a medium body and a healthy amount of carbonation. A little old sock that many browns have and some balancing piney hops. Could be pretty drinkable. An ok brown, as far as browns go.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a dark chocolate brown with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, toffee and bitter hops. Taste is nearly identical. Over carbonated.

Tap from brewery. Strong chocolate, coffee, malt aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Creamy milk chocolate malt flavor - an excellent full body. Great - one of the best brown ales I’ve ever had.

Draught at the Fox & Parrot in Gatlinburg. Pours brown with thin beige head. The aroma is caramel, rootbeer, pepper. The flavor is caramel, pepper, and a strange Kool-Aid note. The finish is a bit sulfury, I’m guessing from using a German-style yeast. Some wood tones come and go. Not bad.
