Commercial Description:
Available cold filtered in 500ml bottles. Occasionally available in the cask.
"Iron Horse is a strong pale ale hand crafted at the beer station from a complex grist of roasted malts and English hops. This gives a full flavour with a traditional Sussex hoppy nose to the beer."

A dark amber beer with a fine white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel and grass. The flavor is sweet and very hoppy - but not my type of hop. The flavor also contains notes of caramel.

Bottle. Dark golden colour with a medium white head. Malty and light hoppy aroma and a malty taste then hoppy. Medium body and a dry finish.

Bottle. Copper color, thin frothy head. Hoppy, butterscotch and a hint of licorice, some caramel and cake dough. Medium bodied. Long hopbitter afteratste. Quality ale.

A Mes rate: Bottle from Sainsburys.
Unusual brown amber colour with a very good head and lots of chunky lacing. Almost a 4 for looks. Sadly the rest doesn’t live up to the promise of the looks. Hoppy but mellow nose. Sweet malts that are just a little to acrid. Then hops and not much else. Boring but not awful.

Bottle. A bit dull. Some dry grainy malt, with some rusty, green hops. Surprisingly void of flavour in the middle of the tongue. Not much happening.

Bottled, 500ml, filtered. Darkish amber with white head. This was quite a fruity beer on a slightly heavy malt. There is something akin to malt bread about the background, raisins and yeast, with just a touch of hop coming in late. There was a slightly sour tang as I got through the glass, but nothing off putting. On the whole it was fine, just a couple of things holding it back.

Bottle@Home. Light medicinal, metallic and citrus aroma. Light hazy, orange/yellow color, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, bitter, citrus, light herbal, light metallic. Ok, not very special.
