Commercial Description:
This dark brown German style lager has a full body and low hop flavor and aroma. This strong and malty brew is tapped in the early spring to fortify those who brave a beer garden while there is still a nip in the air.

Got this one at the restaurant in Wausau, Wisconsin. A dark amber pour with a lacy, white head that dissipated rapidly, nose of carmel apples and sweetbread, nice balance with plenty of maltiness. This was a good beer, and accompanied my steak well.

On tap at the Cranberry H&H near Pittsburgh, PA. Here it is called Butler Bock after the nearby town. Pours orangish red in my clear glass. Aroma has hints of sweetness. There is absolutely no head, not even a froth. It does have that bock flavor, strong but not too strong. Very bocky, can enjoy as a bock, no doubt. Not bad at all, perhaps a little weak, but not much. Very gentleman-like for a bock, enjoyable. Finish is good and not offensive, but it does have it’s own personality. Not a bitter finish but it does have enough taste to let you know you just drank a beer. Finish fades rapidly.
