Cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Pours a hazy golden-yellow with a spare diminishing white head, Aroma of sweet malt, maple syrup, brown sugar and fruit -- no smoke though. Flavour of sweet malt, grain, maple and light hops. Medium bodied. Pretty good but I got no smoke at all from it.

Cask. Hazy yellow-golden body. Acidic aroma - peaches, apple, and grape skins. Heavy palate - sticky malts, sugary fruit, touch of smoked dark malt. Strange.

Cask @ Volo. Not bad. Poured a cloudy and yellow-gold colour. Taste was sweet(I tasted sweet more than maple) with a bitter after taste. I didnt pick up too much of a smokey taste.

Cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Light, hazy yellow-gold. Aroma of maple candy and orange juice, not much smoke. Flavour hold more maple and dark sugar, some fruitiness, and still not much smoke. I didn’t mind it, but I really hoped for a smokier character.

Cask. Aroma: sweet citrus nose, orange, sweet maple. Good combination. Appearance: hazy gold, with smallish white (pourous) head. Green, citrussy front, short bitterness followed with sweet finish. Drinkable bitter-sweet ale. I am afraid that hops and maple totally covered smoked malts with its dominance here.

Cask. At Volo Cask Day 2006. Hazy-cloudy light gold, small head. Candy/brown sugar sweet grainy aroma, a hint of burnt peat and ripe peaches or apricots. The taste is sweet malt - my brain alternated between processing it as "burnt maple syrup and woody malt" and "stewed apricots" - weird. An average paleager body, sticky and syrupy mouthfeel, very cloying but has an odd smokey/bitter aftertaste - it’s better than you’d think, but I preferred their earlier Maple Bush Lager in the big-ass bottles.
