| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Whatever. It’s okay but there’s nothing to it. It’s also strange they market this as their "pale ale" at the brewpub which technicallly may be true but the difference in style from the U.S. or British pale ale is worth highlighting, not blurring them together as if to prove a point. I think this perhaps minor issue points to the unremarkable character of Herkimer brews in general. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Burnt orange in color. Smelled sweetly hoppy. The taste was fairly metallic but with some malty sweetness. Okay, but boring. I’ve had better alts before and surely will again. tennisjoel (946), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA

Copper red pour. Graham cracker scents and well as diecytal. Some caramel flavor, but this is not very well done. Normally I’ve had good luck with this style, not so here. Skyview (4050), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a clear coppery amber (slightly lighter than the oktoberfest) with a thin and good retaining off-white head that has some good lacing. Aroma of dry multi-grain malt, some grassy hops and a touch of dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with a dry multi-grained biscuity malt flavor. Finish is slightly gritty, dry with a grassy hop and grain malt aftertaste. BDR (2160), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
