detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 27, 2007 The beer is a very clear reddish brown or deep copper color, topped by two inches of soft and fluffy light tan foam. Moderately effervescent with good head retention, leaving plenty of webby lace. Awesome dry toasted malt aroma, also a little fruity.
Plentiful toasted malt throughout with a bit of dry chocolate malt up front. The chocolate flavor almost completely disappears after the first sip, but if you wait a bit between glasses, it returns in the first sip of your next glass. The finish provides a subtle fruit flavor, a bit of oak, and hop bitterness for balance. The toasted malt and hops blend for a long, pleasant aftertaste.
Medium body, prominent carbonation incutrav (505), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Jan 22, 2007 Kinda weak for a bock, nice color though. No Head. Pretty Subtle Bock Overall. Little Taste. Some Hints of Malt in the Aroma and Taste. About as Session-y as you Can Get. badgerben (3074), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Mar 19, 2005 Dark brown color with no head. Some vague malt aroma. Slightly sweet taste, but the semi-existent malt vanishes. I swear, there is damn near no taste, period. I’d say it’s disappointing, but I wasn’t expecting much anyway.
