BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 5, 2007 Draft @ Brewpub: Hazy gold, no head or lacing. Nose of tart grass, banana and clove. Funky and infected tasting. Tart and estery. Meh. hellomynameis (743), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Aug 29, 2007 very hazy dark yellow with a fairly thin white head. Small hint of banana and lemon. The flavor has a tartness to it and some extract like banana. The flavor is decent and has a lot of grain. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Jul 21, 2007 On tap at the brewpub, June 2007. Hazy gold colour. Rather lemony aroma - possibly due to the unsolicited slice of lemon. More sharp, tart citrus on the palate. What about banana, fruity esters, spicy yeast? They seemed to be pretty much absent. A clean and quite refreshing beer, but seems to be lacking in some of the elements expected of a hefeweizen, hence I felt the need to mark it down a mark or two overall. It’s pretty average anyway.
Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Jul 10, 2007 Cloudy orange color with a creamy head. Aroma has both orange and lemon zest. Flavor has the same so much so thats its almost disguisting. Pass that Handys Lager back over this way. Total drainpour. Dickinsonbeer (2513), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 3, 2007 Oh man this was not even close to the other beers we tried- way off. Pours a cloudy orangey, yellow with a dull thin diminishing head and no lace. Aroma is moslty citrus and orange with wierd sharp lemony zesty acidity and phenolic- plastic-like. Lemon zest flavor with sharp doughy malt character- citric acid and tart finihs. Astringent in the end as well. Cant beleive this was made here after having some otherwise solid german beers.
