Black colour with ruby edges. Bubbly tan head. The Ashford sample had too much butter on the aroma for me. Sourish in mouth, but the dominated by butter/caramel. Faint dark malts make their way through, but I wasn’t keen. The Canterbury sample was similar but a little less butter/caramel. Still not something I would want again.1.5/5.0
Re-rate County Hotel, Ashford. So much better. Decent black stout, more like a dunkel really. Fin (3449), Merton, Oxfordshire, England

The could not be any blacker. Creamy caramel in the nose. Tangy and very sweet in the mouth. Slight sourness with some blackcurrant and salt. Odd stuff.
