Aroma was of coffee lots of coffee and some roastedness. Flavor was the same with some carmel malts in it. Mouthfeel was thin for most of the beer, but got better as it warmed." | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Poured from bottle into a dimpled mug. Has a nearly black color with hints of ruby at the edges of the mug. It developed a light brown head that was short-lived. I noticed some toastiness and molasses initially in the nosing, and soon afterwards I got some mild noble hops. In the flavor I noticed some nice smokiness that I didn’t catch in the aroma. A very smooth and easy drinker! SledgeJr (2972), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Quite good and quite a bargain at $1.99 a bottle. hughie (3075), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
