Commercial Description:
Golden Revolution heralds the arrival of a new Czech pilsner standard. This handcrafted, dry hopped imperial pilsner sends a powerful message to the pilsners that have come before. Echoing the words of one of the Velvet Revolution's heroes as he dismissed the communists, Golden Revolution proclaims: "Thank you, now go away".

Quite disappointing effort from this DFH/Herold partnership. I’ve enjoyed past Herold offerings so I guess I have to blame this on Sam and Dogfish. It’s just too darn sweet, losing the refreshing character of a true pilsener. Calling it imperial doesn’t justify this result. What were they thinking? I’ll try it again with a dessert and see whether it rates any better.

Pours a clear golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma is very malty sweet with some hop spiciness. Flavor is sweet malts, honey, and some spicy hops to finish it off.

clear golden colour, little foam formed of big bubbles; fruity aroma (apple, grapefruit), a touch of phenol; robust malt body; very sweet; tons of residual sugars in the finish with more alcohol notes - despite its description, it is definitely closer to a malt liquor than to a pilsner

750mL bottle, courtesy of ?? Thanks to a trade from a while ago! Pours a clear, medium golden-honey appearance; mostly headless. Honey and sugar and light floral aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: overly sweet, hard candy; overly hot and unbalanced. Like syrupy sugar. Long, candy sugar finish. Hard to drink very much of this.

(750ml bottle, thanks kmweaver) Small off-white head atop clear straw body. Aroma is moderately sweet, floral/orange, light honey. Taste is sweet, honey, cantalope, berry, flowery. Low carbonation, medium-full body, light stickiness. Who the heck would drink a 750 of this?!

Shared by nolonkowal at the Columbus tasting #6. Very light malt and honey stands out in the flavor.Pours a light copper with a slight off white head.Weak malt pretty much describes the flavor.Thin to medium mouthfeel with a sweet finish.

Bottle shared by nolankowal at Columbus tasting 6 - Pours golden/amber with not much head. Aromas of grains, caramel, maybe a touch of honey and some grassy hops. Flavor is grains caramel, saaz hops, and not much else.. Sweet and sticky on the palate. My second european strong lager of the night and neither impressed me... I won’t be joining in this revolution..

Bottle shared by nolankowal at C-Bus 6: Pours a clear golden color with no head. Aroma, grassy and yeasty. Flavor, grassy notes, yeast, some floral notes, but it really doesn’t do to well. Just weird. "Thank you, now go away". Gladly.
