Commercial Description:
Golden Revolution heralds the arrival of a new Czech pilsner standard. This handcrafted, dry hopped imperial pilsner sends a powerful message to the pilsners that have come before. Echoing the words of one of the Velvet Revolution's heroes as he dismissed the communists, Golden Revolution proclaims: "Thank you, now go away".

Crushed with Jakebra. This is one of the sweetest beers I’ve ever had. An "imperial pilsner" must mean they pour sugar into the bottle. Not happy with it.

I was exited to find an imperial pilsner at our local store, hmmmm.... Pours a deep golden color. Medium head dissipated shortly afterward. Smells of caramel and light hops. Taste a little hops to begin with, then syripy sweet caramel sugar, a bit too much in my opinion, followed by an equivalent stronger alcohol taste. This ends with a little bit of bittering hops at the end. I think this Czech Imperial Pilsner could be much nicer if sweetness and alcohol could be toned down or complimented in a better way. Otherwise it’s an alright drinker.

What did I ever do to deserve this kind of abuse? 750ml bottle. Produced in cooperation with DFH and Sam C.???? I don’t think I’d put my name on this. It looks nice when you pour it but heads straight down hill from there. This thing is a cloyingly sweet mess in both aroma and flavor. It’s syrupy, sticky, and metallic. The only way I was able to drink this was to blend it with an overly hopped homebrew that my friend made. Somehow it balanced it out and made it drinkable. Otherwise….Drain pour.

Corked and caged bottle. Medium sized white head that was frothy and very fizzy when poured, spotty lacing, transparent, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and a golden hue. The aroma was sweet, malt, hoppy, spicy, sugary, lightly floral, and some grassiness. The flavor was sweet, thin, spicy, hops, lightly bitter, and malt. Tingly, thin mouthfeel and medium bodied. Easy to drink, rather refreshing on a summer day, surprised at the low ratings, decent for the style IMO.

The Dan Journal #196. Tasted 7/10/08. 750ml cork and cage. Bright golden hue with a sparse head. Bready and caramel aromas with a touch of corn. Bright piney hop nose. Full bodied and super sweet. Smooth mild alcohol in the middle of the palate that increases as the finish lingers. Honey notes with a dry finish. Candy sweet and slightly off. But a fun drink!

Bottle. Pours golden with thin white head. Aroma has honey, dough, grassy hops. Flavor is sweet, sugary, slightly alcoholic, some light basement flavors, with slight herbal hop bitterness lingering in the finish along with a touch of alcohol. I liked the idea of a czech imperial pilsner and although the product itself falls just a little short of expectations, it’s still pretty good and actually is exceptional if it is held up to Euro Strong Lager standards as opposed to it’s american counterparts.

Clear gold with a fizzy head. Mild aroma of spicy black pepper and pale bready malt. Smooth medium body. Nice pale malt sweet flavor to start, with some bittersweet spicy hops kicking in at the finish to add some balance. Not too bad.

750ml bottle. Honey sweet to the point of being cloying. Golden body with big-bubbled, white head that diminishes. The aroma presents honeycomb, alcohol, spice and caramel. The flavor is heavily sweet and lightly bitter, especially in the finish. Tastes of honey, caramel and some biscuit/grass lager/pilsner notes underneath. Medium body with slightly sticky texture. Somewhat hot alcohol finish. Way too sweet.
