Commercial Description:
Golden Revolution heralds the arrival of a new Czech pilsner standard. This handcrafted, dry hopped imperial pilsner sends a powerful message to the pilsners that have come before. Echoing the words of one of the Velvet Revolution's heroes as he dismissed the communists, Golden Revolution proclaims: "Thank you, now go away".

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head. The aroma is very sweet, some hops, malt and wild flowers were also detected. Flavor of hops, malt, flowers and strong sweetness. The body is medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonaiton. If this is meant to be a pilsner, it’s way too sweet, it’ too bad since the hops are quite flavorfull.

In short: A honeyed sweet Imperial-Pilsner (or something like that). Ok.
How: Bottle (probably a few months old) from after4ever. Thanks Tom! shared with Montreal crew
The look: Clear golden body topped by a white ring of foam.
In long: Nose is garden flowers dipped in honey. The beer is rather sweet beer with a honey cookies malt backbone, almost crunchy and somewhat sugary. Citrus notes here and there. Falls a bit short on the hopping, give it a big Saaz punch and we’d have something here. So this is a dude from a highly respected American mico (Dogfish) contributing to a Pilsner brewed in Czech Republic. As expected the result is a big fat Kind-of-Imperial-Pilsner. Not great but interesting. Let’s just hope they don’t do the same thing with meals because a deep-fried-goulash might be a bit too much for my arteries.

Golden yellow color, moderate to large head, good lacing and retention. Aroma is sugary with notes of bread, moderate grassy hops, lightly floral. Medium bodied, moderate to low bitterness with a sweet alcoholic finish, somewhat sugary. Not bad.

My Bottom Line:
Spicy hoppiness and bold honeyed maltiness coalesce in this hefty, biscuity Strong Lager. Although it has a higher level of residual sugars than I’d like in this broad style, I must say every flavor is well integrated and pleasant.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam clings to the clear golden.
-Alcohol is well hidden, only licking the finale.
-Maltiness is portly, offering both honeyed sweetness and biscuity crunch.
-That hoppiness is present throughout, although one could say it could have been more expressive. Maybe this bottle wasn’t fresh enough?
-The entire flavor profile is very clean.

I was really hoping for great things with this imperial pils brewing in association with Sam of Dogfish Head. Unfortunately, shy of the great sweet, hoppy nose reminiscent of those fruity rainbow candy canes, there wasn’t much left behind the boozy, sweet malty spine. The color was a syrupy burnished yellow, much like several other corn bombs of the genre. There was a medium sized cream white head, but it didn’t hang around for long. This beer will mess you up and is interesting for a moment on the palate before it attacks and cloys. I would have to pass on this again.

Bottle: Pale gold, almost no pop on the decorkin. Nice head and lacing. Nose of bright pilsner malt and "facility". Sweet flavor, subdued and odd, lots of corn and sweet potato. Hoppy though! Fun!

Malty nose, distinctive hops also, golden amber, small white head. Taste is honey and malt, light bodied, sweet, good. Thanks IPFreely.
