Commercial Description:
12 degrees Plato. Brewed in the clasic Bavarian style, no longer common among Czech brewers. We use local wheat and pilsner malts, Saaz hops, yeast bartered from a small Bavarian brewery, and well water to brew a unique sample of Bohemian wheat. The beer is lagered for 50 days, and bottled without filtration.

Hazy gold pour with medium, white head. Aroma of hopcit, yeast, cloves, dry lemongrass. Tastes very fruity, with hopcit, lemon, and banana. Smooth, sweet finish, that lingers for a pleasant while on the tongue. Nice style.

Cask conditioned (unbelievably) at a Wetherspoons. Orange gold with bubbly white head. Just when you lose interest in Wetherspoons, they come up with something like this, a cask Hefeweizen, well served, bliss. I was drinking with a work buddy, who is recently weaned off pale lagers, give this a go I says. Well pained expressions throughout but we both agreed this perfumed, flavoursome, spicy mix was worth trying. Cloves and Cinamon flavours in a wheaty thickish base. Pauls comment was ’nice, but I don’t think I will have another one today’ and here lies the rub, us Brits like inoffensive supping ales in quantity, this is definitely a quiet sipping beer. Fine all the same.

Orange-gold, with thick but dissipating off-white head. Plenty of banana and honey in the nose and taste, and full, creamy mouthfeel. Quite a find.

Light golden, cloudy with creamy off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma: bananas, clove, spicy citrus. Smooth refreshing wheat beer to be enjoyed outside. Lots of fruit esters. Balance is perfect, beer is near perfect. Please don’t taint this one with a lemon.

Darker than most hefes and very cloudy. A two-inch white head diminshes to nearly nothing and adheres to the glass just the tiniest bit. Aromas are medium, with very rustic hop aromas and some spice. No huge banana or apricot esters here. I couldn’t identify one mineral-like flavor in this beer, but reading the online description cinched it for me: well water. The wheat stands out and offers an excellent flavor profile. A wholesome, interesting, but somewhat rough hefe. Worth the taste for comparison purposes.

Interesting brew ... a cross between a hefeweizen and a bohemian pils. Yeasty aroma ... light banana essence. But also a unique clarity and crispness with a kiss of hoppy finish. Quite yummy.

Bottle and enjoyed in my Ayinger Hefe glassware: Pours a hazy golden hue with an initial large frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of banana, clove, lemongrass esters, sweet malts, and noble nops. The taste starts with a nice wheaty overtone balanced with fruity tones and some peppery notes. The surprise was in the finish where I detected not only some sharp bitterness but even a hit of smoky quality. The feel is the weak part of this beer, a tad chalky and watery. Overall, a darn good hefe and quite quaffable. Just is missing the "big name" of the famous wheat brewers over in Germany.
