Commercial Description:
12 degrees Plato. Brewed in the clasic Bavarian style, no longer common among Czech brewers. We use local wheat and pilsner malts, Saaz hops, yeast bartered from a small Bavarian brewery, and well water to brew a unique sample of Bohemian wheat. The beer is lagered for 50 days, and bottled without filtration.

Clear golden body with ample carbonation supporting a fluffy white head. Lightly spicy (black pepper and band-aid) toasted grain aroma. The flavor takes on a papery oxidized element with less-than-ripe raspberry fruit undergirded by the same toasty malt. The beer seems a bit flawed at first but comes together into something pretty drinkable.

Slight off-white creamy head, bubbly body medium-hued amber. Wheaty sweet banana aroma. Sweet, pretty full aroma, pretty okay. Flavor is light and citrusy sweet wheat. Crisp and okay. A little stale-seeming... maybe from the well water. A little too fizzy but not bad in that respect.

off orangish golden color w/ a huge fluffy thick head. Smellls of light breads some belgian style yeastieness a touch of spice and a hint of grains. Palate is nice well coated and lightly creamy even for something pretty small. The flavor is quite nice hints of light wheat bread and touches of bannana. Very low key and quite nice. Thanks to Dave for sharing.

Bottle. Cloudy gold color medium amount of carbonation and a small white head for a hefe. Pleasant wheat aroma with sweet citrus bacground - great smell. Light on the palate but not watery. Sweet citrus taste makes this hefeweizen stand apart from the others. No need for a lemon slice in this one.

Bubbly golden pour with a massive rocky white head. Spicy phenolic band-aid aroma. Tart lemony yeasty taste. Not my favorite Hefe but not terrible.

(07.31.06) One point 0.9 oz brown bottle from DiCarlo’s, Mundelin, IL. 5.1% ABV. 12 degrees P. Bohemian wheat lager unfiltered blond lager. Bubble gum and clove aromas. Poured hazy deep golden yellow with small white head. Soft carbonation. Light-to-medium bodied lager that starts semi-dry with tutti-fruitti/spicy clove/malt flavors. Finished dry and clean. A good drinkable beer.

Pours a five finger white head that fades almost instantly - no lace. Ugly cloudy amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Lemon/cider nose. Starts sweet with apple cider/lemon flavor hints of wheat and apple pie at finish. Strange wheat. $2.49 for a 500ml bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, Ia.
