Commercial Description:
12 degrees Plato. Brewed in the clasic Bavarian style, no longer common among Czech brewers. We use local wheat and pilsner malts, Saaz hops, yeast bartered from a small Bavarian brewery, and well water to brew a unique sample of Bohemian wheat. The beer is lagered for 50 days, and bottled without filtration.

Bottle (bought at the brewery): Hazy, yellow to orange coloured, mid-sized quite firm head; typical fruity nose: bananas, traces of cloves, yeast, lemons; dry sourness in the beginning; mostly devoid of sweet-sour complexity; finally dry with a tinge of tatr bitterness. Well done, but no "super-wheat".

Golden-tan, wheaty-lookin’ beer. A light haze thickens quickly. White head is impressive for a short while. Yeasty aromas with banana, wood smoke, incense and low alcohol. All can be found in flavor as well. Creamy and dry.

09.13.05 500ml bottle. Pours a hazed orange gold with small, foamy white head of slickly sheeting bubbles. Big aromas of savory spices, lots of clove, fresh squash (pumpkinseed), some rotten oranges. Flavors are just as bold as the aromas, quite frankly, exciting. The mix of flavors throughout this quaff are soft and sweet honey, apple blossom, and mildly spiced fresh wheat bread. A holiday of cinnamon, allspice, and clove are subdued and never obtrusive, but integrated perfectly. There’s a hint of peat or smoke so subtle as with a smoked sea salt. Doughy flavor lingers and brings it together, the aftertaste reminds me of a spiced hot cross bun, also hitns of bubblegum. This is the most unusual and most delicious wheat beer I’ve had in a long time. Yum.

Draught, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Naturally cloudy with a wispy, snow white head. Plenty of cloves, musk and spice, immediately greeting you from the glass. Smooth with medium length on the palate. Complex enough to keep you interested.

Pours a hazy light orange color with a ring of white lace. Aroma of banana and bubble-gum. Interesting flavor of banana and bubble-gum with some sweetness. The body is light with an oily texture and soft carbonation.

The Lure:
Bananas floating in a bowl of milk. Pineapples offer some of their raw sweetness, as wheat attempts to peer through the yeast.

The Festivities:
Uber-yeastiness makes for troubled flavors. Pears, peaches and bananas struggle to work cohesively, but thankfully succeed most of the time. An interesting Czech take on the weizen style, but there is much better out there.

Transcendence:
Tidying up often reveals hidden treasures.

Sampler from bottle at <a href=http://ratebeer.com/Place/illinois/orland-par Orland Parh, So, a slightly different version of a weizen, eh? Well, this does have a weizen taste as a base, that is, a slight ’nanner and clove aspect. But very nice and light. Smoothed out by a good lagering period. Well worth a shout out.

(swing top bottle) Hazy orange-gold colour with a big rocky white head. Dusty banana fruity nose with cloves and yeasts. Light to medium body, fizzy carbonation. Malty banana taste with a fruity and clove spicy palate. Clean and well-made Weizen from Czechia.
