Commercial Description:
12 degrees Plato. Brewed in the clasic Bavarian style, no longer common among Czech brewers. We use local wheat and pilsner malts, Saaz hops, yeast bartered from a small Bavarian brewery, and well water to brew a unique sample of Bohemian wheat. The beer is lagered for 50 days, and bottled without filtration.

Bright gold body and lots of carbonation bubbles quickly creeping up the glass. The white head is thick. The aroma is strong with cloves and some funky grass. Over ripe bananas also come to play. The taste is light bananas and some cardboard. There is a light hint of passion fruit. The mouthfeel is relatively thick for a hefe. I tried this again recently. I still agree with the previous rating. A little bit of cherry in the finish.

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Flat, no head. Sweet, honey smooth. Very sweet in fact, all the way through; and tangy sour to finish. Gluey, sticky mouthfeel. This is a bit cloying.

A bit on the darker side for a hefe. Plus this one is lagered so it is a little different than many hefes. Very cloudy and a medium head that fades. Aroma is some cloves and a little banana as it warms. Flavor is malty and pretty smooth but the finish is a little stale. Bavarian hefes are generally much better than this.

Bottle. Hazy dark golden color with a good sized white head. Aroma of banana, clove and bubblegum. Flavor was kind of thin and light. There was a fake banana flavor that really stood out to me. Not horrible, but I wouldn’t bother trying this again.

Cask conditioned @ JDW, Swindon. Spicy clovey citric aromas with a light grainy background. The cloveiness tending towards oil of cloves in places. The low carbonation on cask accentuates the thin body which could be masked somewhat with higher carbonation. An interesting beer for slowly drinking.

Bottle, cloudy yellow gold pour. Light clean aroma, with some esters and some citrus. Some sweet malt flavors, and some spices. Seemed a little thin.
