Aroma is nice - bread/cookie malt with maybe hints of spice (hops?). Tastes pretty good - smooth and moderately sweet, body is "round", very little hop presence, but the finish is fairly dry. Decent, but not anything out of the ordinary. (obx_2005)

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2005 Body is dark gold, almost orange. The large head is persistent. Teh aroma is slight ginger with some carrots and dried out flowers. The taste has a full bread and a little hint of black pepper in the finish. There is a nice note of zinging spice. Very well done. This would be a great session lager if not for the price. HighlanderOne (545), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2005 I was surprised to see that this one is actually a pilsener. Looked and tasted more like a good micro lager to me. Natural smell, malt character in flavor, with the hops showing up in the aftertaste. Unique and impressive. pivnizub (5048), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 16, 2005 Bottle (bought at the Pivni Galerie Prague): Dark golden colour, thin but lasting off-white froth; malty, bready nose with a tinge of bitterness in the background; smooth, light to medium bodied; malty body, holding notes of bread or cookies; the finish is dry with a longer lasting bitterness, which is not too aromatic; nevertheless, quite well balanced and kind of typical bohemian./
From the tap (at "U zpevacku", Na struze, Prague): firmer, longer lasting froth, fizzier than the bottled version. Quaffable PorterPounder (3144), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2005 Picked up at New Leaf Market in Tallahasee, Fl. Pours a dark golden to light copper with a slight white head and good bubble action. Aroma has a very faint graasy tinge to it. Flavor has some sweet honely notes with some underlying malty buiscuit like flavors. Very crisp. thick mouthfeel for a pils. Overall, pleasanlty surprised. Cornfield (4954), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2005 Updated: Jul 7, 2005This poured a clear golden color with a short-lived bubbly white head - although it sure has loads of lively, active carbonation. It has a fresh sweet, grassy aroma with a dusting of floral hops. The delicate malty taste is balanced by a dry, bitter herbal hop finish. Nice pils.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2005 500 ml bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague. Label info: Herold Bohemian Golden Lager, Svetlý Lezák, 12 degrees plato, Pilsenerbier, ABV 5.1%. Golden colour, large head that doesn’t last long, little lacing. Lovely hoppy aroma, flowers (incl. heather flowers), honey and a hint of oak. Flavour is hoppy bitterness from start to finish, long bitter aftertaste. Moderate carbonation. A good pilsener, but not quite as good as Svijansky Rytír Bitter. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England
