Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A golden beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet mlaty with light notes of metal, leading to a dry bitter finish. Boring.

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as "Herold Bohemian Golden Lager". Fully golden, almost amber, with a small, creamy head. Very malty aroma. Fat, malty body with some rather unusual (for a lager) notes of overripe fruit and perhaps even Sherry - with a touch of nuts and a hint of smoke. Definitely not your typical pilsener profile! Rather distinct, dry bitter finish. Interesting. 111005 and 131108

Bottle, 5.2% as Herold Svetly Breznicky Lezak. Mildly bready flavour. Almost clear grey golden colour. Small white head. Apart from being bready, the flavour has some spicy hoppiness.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is hops, grass, slight diacetyl and some mild malts. Flavour is the same, but the maltyness and grassyness are really big. Refreshing, but hard to get down...

Rich golden hue, nice sparkle. Saaz aroma w/ light spices and malt that reminds me of this yellow-ish bread I used to eat in Finland at the university cafeteria (yes, I know that isn’t very helpful, but that’s what it smells like); lovely palate on this one - I’m surprised that it’s only 27 IBUs, I would have guessed low 30’s. There are some beautiful malts in this one - like the Egger Naturgold or Greifenklau I had last weekend - balanced off by the Saaz. The finish is pretty dry, with a fair bit of length. Excellent beer, but moreover if you dropped the hop rate down to 20 IBUs, the malt is so good you’d have an excellent dortmunder.
