Jul 28, 2006 Poured into a pilsner glass. Crisp to the look and feel. Grainy malts and grass for the nose. Taste of malts, hops, slight bitterness, roasted embers here and there. Very balanced and enjoyable.

May 5, 2006 This bottled brew from Indianapolis poured a small sized head of foamy white colored mostly lasting fine to medium sized bubbles that left behind a carbonated transparent light orange brown colored body. The aroma was bready and malty. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish and slightly astringent. The flavor was crisp and semi thick with malty hoppy bready doughy notes.

Apr 9, 2006 Medium gold, little head. Slight honey sweet aroma with a hint of grassy hops. Somewhat grainy flavor, with lightly floral hop finish, good bitterness. Not bad at all. Herold really cranks out some consistently fine lagers, but this one had a bit of a bite on the palate. Still not bad at all. Better than this score indicates.

Feb 4, 2006 Bottle. Mostly diminished small white head with poor lacing, hazy, carbonated, and a yellow golden hue. Nose was malty and hoppy. Flavor was bitter, malty and hoppy. Tingly palate. Light body.

Jan 15, 2006 This was a difficult beer to match up. The bottle label had Herold Traditional Czech Lager. If I rated the incorrect lager I hope someone will inform me. This lager poured with a modest head with good lacing. The aroma was of malt and some yeast. There was slight bitterness. The body was was a tarnished gold. This lager is good beer for watching playoff games. The finish also had some bitterness.

Dec 19, 2005 Nutty aroma, and a slight nutty and malty flavor, but in my opinion it is far too weak to be really enjoyed, might have been just my bottle.

Oct 6, 2005 This beer is very nutty, both in aroma and in taste. Matter of fact, the nutty malts hide any indication of hops in this.
Kind of thin, too. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Oct 2, 2005 This was the lighter lager produced by Herold Brewery or so they would have you believe. It was light and refreshing, about 4% alcohol. The packageing says the water used was drawn from a castle grounds, not sure thats what I want in a beer: water that has been drawn from under a 500 year old heap of stone built to keep people out. not the best drainage
