Bottled.
Very dry from roasted barley. More malt sweetnes would be nice fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Apr 6, 2008 Bottle. Clear medium red amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (100308) yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 27, 2008 50 cL bottle, at Den årlige ølsmagning i Valhal. Pours deep amber with a light brown to tan head. Mild malty aroma, slight roasted. Flavour holds a nice dark caramel malt and slight roasted note. Ends mild roasted malty with a mild bitterness just lurking through. Maria (4380), Thisted, Denmark Dec 13, 2007 Holstebro Øl Festival April 01.2006. Black/brown beer with a pretty good head. At first I think of a dunkel, but then more full notes of roasted malt, caramel and a bit of coffee turn up. It’s an OK schwartzbier, and luckily not too sweet. Could have more body though... Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 18, 2007 Not that dark, deep brown appearance, paler than coffee. More toasty than roasty, quite sweet in fact with brown sugar, fruity and biscuity notes. Sweet in mouth and certainly simplistic, but drying out nicely enough to remain drinkable. Not quite what one expects in a schwarzbier, this is a sweet and rather smooth example avoiding the usual focus on roast, but for soft dry chocolate undertones. I did not get any sourness.
