Ober (306), Best, Netherlands May 6, 2008 A clear dark red/brown colored beer, with a nice beige foamed head, with little bubbels. The aroma is malty, some roasted grains, little caramel and some fruits. The taste is sweet, little bitter with notes of chocolate in the back. A nice bockbeer.
Borresteijn (542), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 11, 2008 On tap, last winter @ De Geuzen. Dark brown, beige head. Sweet aroma of brown sugar, some chocolate and roasted malts. Flavour is very sweet, malty, some chocolate, little bitterness. Too much sweetness for me, can’t finish it. pivo (2486), Germany Mar 15, 2008 Fluffy head, deep caramel color. Some hints of raisins and dark fruits in the body. Sweeter than not. Slight waff of alcohol. Slight roasted malt end, but not enough to counter the big sweet body. FatPhil (2102), Espoo, Finland Mar 9, 2008 330ml bottle (Luxembourg, Amsterdam)
Sweet fruity aroma. Alcoholic and sweet fruity taste. Mellow maltiness. Good dunkel, but I’m not getting the bock body that I expected. Marred only by the alcohol - keep that in check and it would be a very good beer. TrefwoordPunk (366), Leiden, Netherlands Jan 23, 2008 Stone bottle 50 cl. Pours a very dark amberish brown with a small off-white head and with an aroma of molasse with spicey notes. The flavor is syruppy sweet at first and then turns spicey with some roastiness. A nice finish. A pretty good bock
