Clear medium to dark yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, spicy, herbel, cinnamon light notes, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090307]

Bright clean gold with a thin white head. Quite sweet and fruity with some faint spice in the finish. Sweet alcohol, faintly herbal. Oh my GOD!!! Another one of these? Really? The Belgian equivalent of a run of the mill bitter.

Mar 19, 2009 Sampled at Zythos 2009. Brilliant bright gold, estery banana aroma. A bit like a lager in the mouth. Very dirnkable though and I would like to try again.

Pours clear golden with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has some sweet wheat, light oranges and feels quite vinious. Low carbonation, impressive creamy mouthfeel. Flavour starts rather vinous (and a bit too much). There is some lactic feel to it, though never feels infected, more creamy. Sweet and just a touch spicy. Good balance, but the alcohol sticks out too much.

Mar 13, 2009 Draught at Zythos, St Niklaas, Belgium, 08-03-09 I hope that this is the correct beer, I had it down as Het Kapitel X from the programme but it seems to be the only newish 8% beer from these chaps. Pours very clear mid-gold with a white head, in fact it looks very good. Alcohol and malt dominate the aroma. There is quite a lot going on in the mouth and the strength of this feels even heftier than the 8%. Really quite malty and sweet, drying a little towards the end. Enjoyable beer. A6 A5 F7 P3 OV13 3.4
