Jun 23, 2007 This Belgian quad pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 330ml bottle. Extremely large white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet, yeasty and biscuity. Medium bodied quad. Malts are fruity and sweet. Yeasty and bready. Smooth taste. Touch of alcohol bite. Clean taste once you get past the huge freekin head. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and sooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Jun 15, 2007 This beer was quite bad. I do take into account that it’s probably well past it’s prime. But I’ve had beers that were past their prime still be outstanding. Still, this beer just had way too much of a metallic character to be anything that a near drainpour. Lot’s of irony, metallic notes in the nose and palate. This, with a funky aftertaste of rotted veggies makes this something I doubt I’ll revist unless I know I have a fresh bottle.

Jun 13, 2007 The Dan Journal #34. Tasted 9/2006. Thick and hazy murky orange brown hue. Scabby white head. Sweet aromas with hints of apples and cinnamon. Vanilla and sweet breads. Creamy and sweet palate. Crisp bitter and lively. Coating, with a vanilla note followed by a crisp hoppiness. Nice malt/hop balance. Well done quad!

Jun 1, 2007 Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, BB May 07). Quite pale. Fruity with sweet malt and alcohol. A little spicy yeast. On the whole overly sweet and alcoholic for me.

May 29, 2007 Bottle. Poured an hazy golden orange body with thin head that fell away too quick. Aroma is of slight yeast, fruity, orange soda aroma, faint spices. Flavor has a orange soda like taste (weird), slight spice, yeast, light lollipop qualities. Overall this was weak, drinkable but weak. Too weak of a mouthfeel for a Quad.

May 28, 2007 Interesting that this particular example is a golden color instead of that dark brown that I expect in an Abt. Reminds me of a strong tripel. Lots of tropical fruit in the aroma along with some perfume notes due to the alcohol. Very sweet and fruity beer with a strong yeast presence at the end. Good stuff.

May 28, 2007 Bottle. Large fizzy white head that mostly lasted. Good lacing. Clear sparkling with heavy particle in flow and a slightly dark golden colour. I thought that ABT should be more dark in colour...well I guess not. Aroma of yeast, fruit, spice, coriander, caramel, apricot and somewhat soap notes as well. Full bodied with a lively carbonation and a alcoholic texture. The 10 % shows over the palate. Moderated sweet malty notes with some alcoholic like bitterness. Sweet and light spicy finish. Not the best ABT that I have had. Belgium 25-05-2007
