Pours a hazy golden-orange with a large mostly-lasting foamy white head and lots of little floaties. Sweet aroma, a little sugary, lots of yeast along with some spices and alcohol. Flavour’s also sweet with some yeast, some faint hops and a spicy/ alcoholic finish (also some bottle/metal in the finish) -- I’m not crazy about the aftertaste. Average body. It’s O.K. but it’s a little too sugary sweet for me. GregClow (2516), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hazy light gold, tiny white head. Aroma is fruity, a bit spicey, Belgian yeast notes, not bad. Sweet flavour, a bit musty, dry finish with alcohol warmth. OK, but not especially memorable. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 2, 2006 Bottle (330ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev - bottle courtesy of jerc. Murky yellow-orange, small white head, floaties. Sweet candy malt aroma, like apple cobbler, yeast and alcohol. Taste is very sweet and yeasty, like a fruit pastry with tons of alcohol, has a very sharply bitter spicy/yeasty finish. Thick syrupy body, alcoholic and bitter mouthfeel, bitter almost harsh aftertaste. Considering how many times this has moved from fridge to fridge in the last year, acceptable - a little harsh TheGrandMaster (1877), Auckland, New Zealand
