Aroma is mostly sweet caramel, with notes of yeast and fruits. Flavor is candi-sweet, malty, fruity, spicey and with some warming alcohol. Fizzy, medium body and a sweet and bitter finish. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2006 Bottle. Golden yellow, small white head. Sweet yeasty aroma, honey notes, and toasty malt. Sweet malt quickly gives way to a dry toasty alcohol. Pleasantly enjoyable but lacks complexity. Medium palate. Nice. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2006 Cloudy amber. Good head. Mandarin orange juice and spruce. Celery. Flavor is a bit sharp. Is this hoppy? This is a spicy beer, but the sharpness doesn’t quite hit the spot. Saarlander (1583), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2006 Poured with a huge head, well carbonated. Alcohol bite on the first sip, but it is quite fruity and spicy as well. I really think the alcohol dominates too much, but still decent! Nuffield (2724), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2006 This was described on the menu as a tripel, though I followed the name in thinking ABT. Clear yellow-ish with dense white carbonation. Alcohol is apparent but it is leaping with spices (clove, black pepper) and fruit (light citrus) and a touch of metal. Not very adventurous palate. Lotsa spicy fruit in the nose...a yeastiness lurks behind that maltiness. The flavor is more malts with candy sugar, yeastys, melons, etc. The alcohol pops up loudly also..whew. Finishes with a nice hop bite if not a tad harsh. I will get this one again. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA
