Dark golden with a fairly huge head. Fruity, spicy freshnes in spite of the very potent, warming alcohol. Some good hoppiness in the finish. A rather atypical Abt - but still nice. 061097 maeib (4766), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2005 Bottled. A hazy copper coloured beer with a pleasant white head which hangs around a while but not through the whole bottlefull. The aroma is sweet and spicy with coriander noted, and alcohol. The taste is quite sweet and biscuity with fruity notes (possibly apricot) and again alcohol and spices. A nice beer, not in the same league as other quads, being a bit over sweet, but still nice. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2005 Big nice white frothy head on this orange golden shimmering brew.. Fizzy carbonation. The head leaves nice laces on the glass. Dough and vanilla peach nose. Medium bitter kick at first, followed by an intense peach and yest taste - medium lasting with a light peppery finish. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Apr 27, 2005 Bottle: Sweet and malty aroma. Caramel, sugar, fruit, orange peel, banana, and yeast. Pours a cloudy dull orangish-gold with a soapy white head with very good retention. This beer starts of pretty good with a nice malty fruity beginning. Finishes a very metallic, yeasty, lightly citrusy and a rough alcohol flavor. Very disappointing. Aroma and apperance are the only thing that this beer has going for it. pivo (2537), Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2005 Yeasty, spiced and a slightly grass nose, clear gold color, tall spongy head. Vanilla notes in the body, some candied sugar, with a light spiced end: corriander mostly. Medium body with a good balance. Alcohol warms as it goes down. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2005 A very nice beer at room temperature. Lots of tripel-like fruitiness held together and in check to a nearly perfect degree. No particular flavor predominates, and it takes a while to unpack. Very good body, but a little more viscosity would make this stellar. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2005 Bottle. Hazy golden color with yeasties in suspension, held aloft by the carbonation present in the beer. Nice long-lived white head. Good lacing. Aroma is a bit citric, yeasty, some sweetness to the nose. Medium bodied. Alcohol is noticeable but not overbearing. Flavors of sugar and fruit. Nice Quad.
