Dark yellow color, white head. Cloudy appearance. Spicy, fruity and hoppy aroma. Full bodied. Flavor starts with sweet tones and some spices, ends with dry and mildly alcoholic tones. Rich aroma and flavor.

Listed on the menu as a tripel, that is what this beer definitely is. Fine haze of particles hang in a medium to deeply golden body, good head. Aroma is spice, a touch of perfume, and sweetness, quite nice. Full on malt flavor, great balanced spiciness with a peppery note, hint of dried hops, and definite yeast. Quite yummy! But not a quad.

33cl bottle, no notches for BBD. Pours dark golden with a slightly off-white head that is generous. it sits for 5 minutes while the head drops leaving plenty of lace behind. Bubble gum in the nose, with some banana and alcohol. Nice body, malty beer with a good dose of hops to it, but the finish kills it...a sort of stale metallic comes out in the lingering fruity finish. What would be a very nice beer is nearly ruined. I’ll still give it decent marks, because it is still enjoyable up to that finish. I’ve gotten this same flavor out of the other Het Kappittel beers I’ve had as well. Too bad.

shared the bottle with motelpogo xmas eve, cellared for a year and pretty old already before that i think although i cant remember the useby. classy smell of plums, alcohol and a surprising hoppiness. smooth and mouthfilling. nice balance of yeast fruit, brown sugar, grainy malt, coriander and just enough toffee. nice long dry finish. not staggeringly flavourful but very smooth and balanced.

330 ml bottle. Bright, dark gold, hazy with touches of bubbling and small floaties, large diminishing head; yeasty, spicy, sourdough-funky nose, more saison-like than anything; sweet and rich on the tongue again with the funky stuff, nice dry herbal component (rosemary, white pepper, and dandelion coexist) but with touches of sweetness at front and finish; full, stable body, heavy late bitterness and pepper, subtle alcohol. Quite nice, though not tops for the style by any means. No idea how old this bottle was.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a light orange with super-thick white fluffy head. Aroma is sweet with hints of banana and lemon. Taste is almost like a barley wine. Not much flavor besides the alchohol which is very strong and up-front. Starts sweet and a little spicy then finishes bland, flat and watery. Warming. Too much alcohol and not enough flavor.

Hazy, deep golden-orange body with moderate high carbonation and a loose, foamy white head. Aroma of fruit peels, fusel alcohol, yeasty spice and some clove. Long, lingering yeasty spice flavor with moderate malty sweetness, medium phenols, and some firm but not overpowering bitterness. Hot and belly-warming, but has better balance and lacks the off elements of the lower ABV Kapittel beers.

bottle - xmas eve with eczematic. slightly hazy golden. decent aroma of cheesecake and pancake dough with faint earthy coriander and some vanilla. pleasant fluffiness. quite soft - a few years’ ageing had really mellowed this
